I just noticed how long it had been since I updated last. Well, technically I updated about 30 seconds ago, but this will not do. I maintain a Livejournal as well (username greyseal), so I think I've been posting things there. I try to restrict this blog to thoughts on my daughter (and future child #2, currently gestating) and it isn't possible that I haven't had a thought during the entire month of July. Already I'm failing.

Excuses? There are more than one. I have two part-time jobs. My husband's birthday was last month. My friend's child was diagnosed with cancer. A harrowing month, indeed.

But this will not do. I have a terrible memory, and someday Lily is going to want to hear stories about when she was a baby. I know I'll forget if I don't get it down.

I must recommit.
